Serving Areas
Student support
When crisis forces families to make difficult decisions about schooling for their children, Kenya’s young boys and girls are forced to drop out of school and fail to achieve their dreams and live up their full potential. We are fortunate to live in a part of the world where free education gives us all a level playing field in our early years and a shot at success. In Kenya, school fees presents an insurmountable hurdle for some families. Such was the case in Fridah and Eugine lives before TLI had the opportunity to sponsor their education. Both are now looking to graduate from college in 2021 Fridah with a bachelor’s degree in Soil, Environment and Land Use Management and Eugine with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. In spite of the adversity in their humble beginnings, they are highly motivated and determined to achieve their goals and be a support system for their families and communities.
Church Construction
This year TLI is finishing construction of a church in Ilumya Village. This church will be blessing to the community as they will have permanent building to worship God and hold bible studies and prayer meetings.
feeding the poor
When COVID-19 hit in March and everything started closing, many people where left
With no income and areas where most people depend on daily labor to earn a living. Families where hit hard. TLI quickly mobilized and raised funds for COVID Relief which has been a blessing to many needy families.
Pastor support
In any country, being bi-vocational (or tri-vocational) is one of the most demanding positions that pastors find themselves in to be able to take care of their families. It takes diligent study and preparedness to present biblically sound messages as well as to perform all of the other duties of ministry in the community while also providing for a family. Many churches in Kenya simply don’t have the necessary funds to fully support pastors to allow them to be in full-time ministry. TLI has sought to alleviate some of this financial burden by providing small monthly financial sponsorships to five pastors who are part of the TLI family:
- Stella Bor of Kitengela TLI Center
- Nancy Musembi in Kitooni, Machakos
- Dennis Osir in Nairobi
- Jonathan and Francine Mutungi at Bridge Community Church, Nakuru
- William and Joyce Mutisya of Jesus Celebration Center in Mtwapa, Mombasa
