empowerment I building hope

Transforming Lives International believes that the most important aspect in facilitating transformation in the lives of individuals and communities is by sharing the gospel. Another nearly as important aspect of transformation is expressing love by building hope. Through years of laboring, we have learned that hope is best expressed by providing opportunity for long-term empowerment in peoples lives. The incredible students who learn that they have been selected for educational sponsorship are inexpressibly grateful. Empowerment represents breaking of cycles of poverty, elimination of hunger, and community transformation. Join us is this powerful life-alternating aspect of TLI’s mission.

alfred

Alfred moved to Kenya from war torn Sudan. There he struggled to survive in the slum of Kawangware. In a season of desperation he fasted and prayed for 21 days and asked for God’s intervention in his life. Soon after this fast his life turned around. He met a TLI pastor who was filled with compassion and brought him into the church family. She provided pastoral support and counsel and connected him to TLI’s child sponsorship program. Alfred is now gainfully employed and is supporting others.

When crisis forces families to make difficult decisions about schooling for their children, Kenya’s young boys and girls are forced to drop out of school and fail to achieve their dreams and live up their full potential. We are fortunate to live in a part of the world where free education gives us all a level playing field in our early years and a shot at success. In Kenya, school fees presents an insurmountable hurdle for some families. this is what you can do in order to help.

women empowerment

a story of hope

Linda

Our first participant came about in a way that truly showed the hand of God. TLI was blessed to purchase equipment for a talented, passionate cook—Linda—to help her get her catering business off the ground. Linda’s business is growing and she in turn, now employs others. Her businesses has become an immense blessing for her community particularly during times of intense economic need

Join in building hope for women

Women empowerment has been a vision for TLI since 2018. This initiative was birthed out of a desire to see families given resources necessary to build economic capital and meet their own needs on a continual basis. We have continued to add one to two women on an annual basis and have provided capital for five women to begin their own businesses. This has proven to be a successful and meaningful way to provide sustainable change for families and communities. It is our priority to grow this aspect of TLI’s work.  Join us in building capacity to empower more women.
